• Obituary, Brantford, ONTARIO, 1916. 30 MARTHA WILLIAMSON SIMON: OBITUARY:
From The Jarvis Record, issue November 1, 1916:
The funeral of the late Martha Williamson, dearly beloved wife of the late Mr. Charles Simon, took place from her late residence, 174 William Street, Brantford., on Friday afternoon, October 27, 1916 at 2 o'clock to Mount Hope Cemetery. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. J. W. Gordon, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

The deceased was in her 68th year, but her sunny disposition kept her young. She was always interested in young people. She was an ardent member of St. Andrew's and was an active worker there until up to within a few days of her death. All good causes found in her a sympathetic friend, and she will be sadly missed, not only by her sorrowing family, but by the Church and
Congregation which she loved so much and by a large circle of friends to whom her sudden demise came as a great shock.

She was a great believer in Jesus Christ and her strong faith in His goodness shone in her face and enabled her to live triumphant over the trials and sorrows of life. During the service, Miss Anguish sang a favourite hymn of the deceased, "Asleep in Jesus."

There remains to mourn the loss of a wife and mother. Messrs. Charles and Wallace Simon and Misses Alta and Myrtle, all of Brantford, and Mrs. W. F. Anguish of Hagersville.

The pall-bearers were one brother, John Williamson of Toronto, and five brothers-in-law, namely John Simon of Hagersville, J. T. Bell of Hagersville, D. Caldwell of Toronto, D. Keen of Balmoral, and O. Beam of Selkirk.

The floral tributes were many and beautiful, including the following: Pillow: family; Wreath: brothers and sisters, St. Andrew's choir; Cross: Foreman of Piat & Letchworth Company; Basket of roses: Ladies Aid of St. Andrew's Church; Basket of mums: Mrs. Anguish & family; Sprays: Mrs. Graham & family, Hagersville, Mr. & Mrs. Ferguson & Helen, Mr. & Mrs. Mr. Drake & daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Clark Johnson, Mr. & Mrs. Alex Grieves, Mr. & Mrs. John H.
